DESCRIPTION:Experience math like Athlos students do!\nMath Night is a great way to see and experience what math is like for Athlos students. As a school\, we will use the central idea of a quilt to display how math progresses through the grades\, including the concepts of area\, geometric shapes\, patterns\, diameter\, perimeter\, etc. Aspects of our Bridges K-5 program and CPM Educational Program for middle school will also be presented by grade level teachers. Finally\, we will state math testing and the computer math programs Athlos uses. Each family will receive a raffle ticket to win an amazing handmade quilt! \nMath Night will be held in the cafeteria and the two computer labs on the North side of the building.

We are currently accepting applications for this school year and next school year. DESCRIPTION:At Athlos Academy\, student-led conferences take the place of traditional parent-teacher conferences. Through the process of planning for and facilitating their own conference\, students:\n\nAre empowered to honestly reflect on their learning\nTake ownership of their successes and challenges\nSet specific goals for the future\n\nRole of the Student: \nStudents facilitate the conference and honestly reflect on strengths\, areas of challenge\, highlights\, needs\, and goals for the future. After the conference\, they reflect on what went well and areas for improvement to set goals for future student-led conferences. \nRole of Families: \nFamily members at the conference actively listen to the student\, ask questions\, and offer encouragement and feedback. Families also support student’s goals at home by engaging in ongoing discussions about progress\, the Athlos pillars\, challenges\, goals\, etc. \nRead an article about how student-led conferences help children lead. \nThe book fair is also open during student-led conferences in room 133.

DESCRIPTION:The parent needs assessment and SHARP survey is for parents of students in grades 6–8. \nThe needs assessment is a survey that assesses the needs of the school. The SHARP survey (Student Health and Risk Prevention) is designed to assess health risk behaviors\, such as substance abuse and anti-social behavior\, that can impede positive development and/or result in injury among our youth.
