DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Zoom event with the Utah Wild!\nUtah Wild is a women’s Ultimate Frisbee team comprised of 30 professional players from Utah\, Idaho\, Montana\, and Colorado. They compete in the Western Ultimate League against teams from all over the western USA. \nThe organization’s goal is to contribute to the growth and development of Ultimate Frisbee in their communities. They are connected to the Utah Ultimate Disc Association which runs most of the Utah youth programs. DESCRIPTION:Come join us for a Socially Distant Ice Cream Social on Friday\, June 5 from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Athlos Academy parking lot. This event is open to Athlos students and all interested families. \nWe will be featuring ice-cream from The Scoop\, a locally owned ice-cream cafe. Our athletic movement coaches will be providing social distance games and activities. \nAthlos Academy of Utah is currently accepting enrollment applications for the 2020-2021 school year. \nAthlos students experience an education that demands rigorous academic performance\, instruction in healthy diet and athletic movement\, and an emphasis on building character. \nAthlos Academy is a tuition-free\, public charter school serving students in grades K-8. Once you have chosen a time\, your teacher will send you a Zoom link to join the meeting. \nThese 5-10-minute individual family meetings will take place on August 17 between the hours of 9-11 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. If families are unavailable during those times\, special accommodations can be made by coordinating with your teacher. \nFor questions\, email Shylah Poirier\, assistant principal of lower school\, at spoirier@athlosutah.org. \n\nFor grades 5-8:\nYour teachers will hold two introductory meetings via Zoom. These sessions will take place at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on August 17. They will last 20 minutes. The content shared in these sessions will be the same at both times. DESCRIPTION:Picture day will be on September 29 for all Athlos students at Athlos Academy.\nDistance learning students will enter through the kindergarten doors on the North side of the building and will be required to wear face coverings within the building (except when having the picture taken). Distance learning students will NOT be required to wear uniforms for picture day. \nThey will be split into two groups divided by students’ last name. \nA-M – 3:30-4:00 p.m. \nN-Z – 4:00-4:30 p.m. \nWatch the Lifetouch safety video on how students will have their photos taken. \nThere will be a retake day on October 15. DESCRIPTION:The first Monday of every October is World Day of Bullying Prevention! On this day\, students\, schools\, and communities all over the world go BLUE together against bullying and cyberbullying. We want to encourage our Athlos community to wear blue on Monday\, October 5th. \nWeek of October 5th  – Challenge Yourself and Others To Be Kind. Make kindness go viral with an act of kindness\, and challenge friends and classmates to pay it forward with their acts of kindness. Parents\, post stories of their child showing kindness on the Athlos Facebook page! Teachers\, email Miss Jessica stories of students showing kindness in their classrooms\, so our student leaders can then give shoutouts to students over school announcements throughout the month of October.
