SUMMARY:The Griffin Gallop Jog-a-thon
DESCRIPTION:This event is our big fundraiser for the school year! \nIn the past\, we have used the money to purchase equipment for athletic movement class\, and AED\, pedometers\, etc. With the funds\, we also hope to install sound panels in the gym and take students on field trips. Students will be jogging or walking as many laps as they can during their athletic movement time which can be found in the table below. Parent\, staff\, and student volunteers will help tally how many laps each student completes. Parents are encouraged to volunteer for the event and walk and run with their children (click here to sign up and volunteer). \n  \nStudents are encouraged to find family\, friends\, or neighbors to “sponsor” them for this event (sponsors are not required\, all students will participate). Water will be provided. Students may bring their own snacks\, please no peanut products! \nJog-a-thon Times \n\n8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m.  Grade 7\, 8 & 9\n9:20 a.m. – 9:55 a.m.  Grade 3/AM Kinder\n10:20 a.m. – 11:05 a.m. Grade 4\n11:10 a.m. – 11:55 a.m.  Grade 6\n12:00 a.m. – 12:45 a.m. Grade 5\n12:50 a.m. – 1:25 p.m. EXT/PM Kinder\n1:45 p.m. – 2:20 p.m. Grade 2\n2:25 p.m. – 3:25 p.m. Grade 1\n\nClick Here to download the pdf of the flyer/pledge sheet. \nFlyers and pledge sheets will be sent home with students next week.

DESCRIPTION:Warm Hearts Drive \nOctober 11-29 \nThe Fourth Street Clinic helps Utahans experiencing homelessness improve their health and quality of life by providing health care and support services.  The Fourth Street Clinic Warm Hearts Drive is accepting the following donations: \n\nNew socks\nWinter hats\nGloves\nBlankets\nScarves\nHand & Foot warmers\n\nStudents\, staff and families are encouraged to participate.  The donation box will be in the front entry of the school.  Thank you! \nThis project is part of Athlos Students SERVE.  The “V” in SERVE stands for volunteerism.  Volunteering not only provides students with an opportunity to give back to their communities\, but it also teaches them about social and societal issues outside of what they may encounter within the walls of the classroom. \nAs a vital element of the Athlos model\, students learn to intentionally build in Performance Character traits like integrity\, humility\, and grit.  Volunteering provides a platform for Athlos students to exhibit these traits and become active and engaged community members.
