Update, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 22
After driving the neighborhoods of Herriman and South Jordan between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. tonight, I have determined that Athlos Academy of Utah will engage in an additional virtual learning day tomorrow, February 23.
While the main roads are clear, many side streets are not. Many neighborhoods have yet to be plowed. NO STUDENTS should attend on campus.
Teachers will contact you via email, canvas, or other modes of communication. We hope that each of you stays safe and warm. See you on Friday, February 24.
Update, 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 22
Athlos community, we appreciate your support and efforts to stay engaged in remote learning during inclement weather today, February 22.
The weather continues to be poor, and travel conditions are questionable. An additional remote learning tomorrow may be necessary.
Like last night, the final decision will likely be made and published around 8 p.m. Notification will be pushed out through yesterday’s methods, including Swiftk12, the website and social media.
Original Post, 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 21
Dear Parents and Students,
Because of the severe weather, it is difficult for students, families, and teachers to arrive safely at school. Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22, will be a remote learning day only. NO STUDENTS should report to the building. Teachers will approach learning in a number of different methods. Some will zoom, others will send emails or other activities directly home. We hope that everyone stays safe and warm. See you on Thursday, February 23.
